Sunday papers
Reading through the 'modern football etc etc thread got me thinking. Used to love sunday morning in bed with the papers going through all the reports and quotes from the games the day before. Now i honestly cant remember when i last bought a paper on a sunday. Am i the only one or is this one of lifes simple pleasures that has been given up on generally?

Re: Sunday papers
I was a shit paperboy.

I didn't read the lot, but enough to make sure only a handful of people got the papers before they had to go to work.

'I used to remember coming out of Romford dogs on a Saturday night and a bloke would be selling the early Sunday editions'

Did you enjoy the Newcastle, Man U and Liverpool match reports, mate?

Tomsdad, that brings back memories. Sunday was my favourite delivery day because I used to read the sports pages [ eagerly searching for the WHU reports ] then after the round get back into bed with tea and toast.

I used to remember coming out of Romford dogs on a Saturday night and a bloke would be selling the early Sunday editions. Get the News of the World and the People and go straight to the gossip columns for the transfer rumours. Simpler times.

Every schoolboys first job, paperboy!

Carrying all the Sunday papers on a cold wet morning at 7 o'clock, made a man of you!

I used to read as many match reports as I could, good or bad result. When I was a much younger chap, I used to cut out the match reports and stick them in scrapbooks. A family tradition that started with my Grandad, then my Dad.

Haven’t got mine anymore but I treasure my Grandads scrapbooks, a really fascinating insight into times past.

I can’t remebr the last time I bought a paper, every thought or comment is now readily available online. I do miss Vinny’s match reports on here. They were always a good read.

I couldn't tell you the last time I bought a newspaper. Aside from the Telegraph at airports for the 'free' water - and I don't even take that!
